Activities
Read letter V books
Watch letter V playlist
Make letter V into a vase (I had considered making V out of vegetables, but Natalie likes flowers more and insists on calling a vase a "base")

Usually she scribbles over the letters, but this week, she made very nice circles around them!

Natalie was motivated to work by the promise of Vanilla Waffers.  Still, look at how awesome she traced those V's!

These are unrelated to the letter V, but these two pieces of work from this week show me that I have no reason to worry about Natalie's fine motor development getting in the way of her learning to write, and that doing our work with letters has meant something to her.

First Natalie wrote her name.  I just told her the letters and this is what she came up with.

Then I helped her more directly to write Happy birthday for Mike's birthday.  If you know what it says, you can find all the letters!  She began to loss interest by the end, but we stuck it out.  She needed some help remembering what all the letters looked like and to remember to keep them in line.  I did learn that in the future when we practice writing the bigger the paper the better!  This is a poster board!  William wrote some, too, over on the right.
