"What Can I Make That You Can Eat?"

Wheat \ Egg \ Peanut free items for entertaining:

Easy:
Veggie or fruit platter (keep dip separate)
Corn chips and salsa
Cheese and crackers (Blue Diamond Almond Nut Thins; or Rice Works chips; or segregate wheat crackers to separate dish so the crumbs don't get on the cheese)
Pepperoni
Popcorn
Salad (no egg, no croutons, dressing on side)
Utz Cheeseballs
Potato chips (most brands - thought NOT Pringles or Baked Lays, I believe both have wheat)
Cool Ranch Doritos (NOT the red packaged Nacho though; they have wheat last I checked)
Hershey Kisses or Rolos (sadly, no M&M's; Hershey's Miniatures make me nervous because the regular ones are touching the Mr. Goodbars)
Cook out food (hamburger, hot dog, corn on cob)
Ice cream (vanilla, NOT French Vanilla, that has eggs for sure. Always check for egg)

A Little More Work:
Cherrybrook Kitchen Gluten Free Dreams baked goods (these are hard to find up here; haven't had them in months)
Chili  (meat + beans + tomatoes = safe!)
Meatballs (no egg and with wheat free bread crumbs, you can get these bread crumbs at Shaws and Hannaford)

Alcohol:
Rum (I avoid pretty much all other hard liquor else because the grain origins are hard to pin point)
Wine

Lastly, if something calls for eggs, but not wheat.  Just use this instead: Ener G egg replacer.  We always have some.

  1. Thanks for sharing this! Very helpful! Oh, and are you sure that Rolos are safe? Just asking because Rosalyn was playing with some of the wrappers or mine and developed a rash. I just assumed, but didn't even look at the wrapper. It was probably something else.
Oh, and our group will have to have a cookout, just for you, so you can actually eat the food we have as a group! :)

  2. I eat Rolos often. It is possible that I am no longer allergic to peanuts. I've never actually had a reaction because I've avoided them my whole life. Its also possible that Rozzie is more sensitive than me. Most, if not all, Hershey's chocolate has a warning, but I ignore it since I've been eating their products for so many years.
