The Big Storm: A Very Soggy Counting Book by Nancy Tafuri
Stella series by Marie-Louise Gay
In the Small, Small Pond by Denise Fleming
Spot series by Eric Hill (especially Spot's Snowy Day as it has "spot" and another S word on all but one page)

I avoided snow titles that related directly to Christmas, but there are plenty out there, most obviously Frosty the Snowman.

Idea Words:
I had tons of ideas for S, so I stuck to winter themed ones since it is February as we go through letter S.  But, I wanted to keep track of my ideas.  So, I'm going to add a new section where I list idea words.

Sesame St, snake, space, seal, shark, snow, Snow White, soft, sock, Sophia the First, spider, squirrel, shoe, smart, storm, scared, seed, sun, shadow, shhh, smile, small, skunk, sheep, stone, sleep, surprise, sneeze

Activities:
  • Thinking of making S into a Skunk since we were talking about them recently, but Natalie has already mentioned making the S a snake.
  • Sensory bag of sprinkles - write S in the sprinkles - This was harder to do than I thought, but Natalie did like the bag of sprinkles
